Although she still refers to herself as an "East Coast girl," Gail has been living in the midwest for the past 35 years. Born and raised in New Jersey, Gail has made Kansas City, Missouri, her home since graduating from Syracuse University. For three decades she worked as the premier floral painter for Hallmark.
Gail has a profound knowledge of and appreciation for flowers. She began painting from photographs and catalogue pictures, but as she became interested in gardening, she began to paint from life.
Her watercolors reflect her passion and her talent. Constantly experimenting with new techniques, Gail keeps her paintings fresh while pushing herself creatively. "I laughingly call myself a 'garbage' painter meaning I use whatever it takes to get the desired effect I'm after," describes Gail.
"It never feels like work to me. The research, the creative process and the final product are a part of me. Each painting is a new adventure."
Prolific as she is, Gail's work is not purely commercially directed. To show appreciation of the support she has received from the art world, she offers frequent workshops about new techniques and current trends.
