Mary Jones
Born in Midland, British artist Mary Jones has always been "passionate about art and design."
Mary chose ceramic design as the focus of her college studies at Staffordshire, and upon graduation became a designer for a well known manufacturer. Within a few years, however, Mary left to start her own freelance
design business, preferring the challenge and diversity of working with multiple companies. Mary has been designing progessionally since the 1970's. She finds that the diversity of freelance work is creatively fulfilling
as well as affording her the chance to travel and expand into overseas markets.
As her business has grown, so has her staff - thus the creation of The Mary Jones Studio, which flourishes today in the historic country town of Stafford, where Mary also lives. As a creative director, Mary oversees a wide variety of projects. "I have a wonderfully talented team working with
me. Together we create innovative and diverse design collections for home and contract furnishing products." The studio enjoys an ever-expanding worldwide client base.
Mary is inspired and influenced ny Andy Goldsworthy, Constantin Brancussi, modern architecture and fashion. She also loves alnd and cityscapes, Taiwanese timples, the patterns of Asia, and the painted wooden houses of Barbados.
Perhaps her donimant influences are the hills, shore and wonderful views surrounding her country home in North Wales.
