Seeking truth and inspiration from the history of the past, I am drawn to gathering bits and pieces of another time's philosophy and art, which I then merge with my expressionistic paintings and collages to create visionary art for today," explains Stephanie. A photographer and graphic designer for 20 years, Stephanie Dalton Cowan now works in the creative field as a professional illustrator and fine artist. Her unique style of mixed media collages combines traditional artwork with the digital world. Using a digital scanner as a camera, she is able to combine layers of abstract painted imagery and archival art. Stephanie has a love of literature and archival imagery that combines perfectly with her background in photography. She researches her imagery from her studio collection of antique books, some up to 200 years old. Stephanie is a member of "Who's Who Among American Women" and has received many regional and national awards for her work. Residing in the North Georgia mountains with her husband, her two dogs and two cats, Stephanie enjoys her lifestyle in the southern wildlife sanctuary called Big Canoe.
