For artist Tracie Harris, traversing the friendly skies fuels her flights of fancy. She uses extensive international travel as a flight attendant for Continental Airlines to inspire her art. Tracie is sure to bring her watercolors with her to such locales as South Africa, Prague, Paris or Rome.
Tracie grew up in Orange Park, Florida, and started drawing "when I was old enough to hold a crayon." As a visual arts major at Florida State University, Tracie studied faces, attended drawing classes and took an interest in surrealism. She cites Renaissance master Michelangelo and surrealist painter Salvador Dali as influences: her diverse scope of subjects and styles reflect their effect upon her work.
Using watercolors on paper, Tracie's style can be described as realism with a whimsical twist. Her subject matter varies from angelic faces and animals to the rich oranges and yellows of rustic fruit.
Tracie's work is on display in galleries in Florida, Georgia and North Carolina. Her dream is to own her own business one day.
