David Tutwiler is an avid railroad enthusiast and a member of the Society of Steam Era Artists and the National Railway Historical Society.
"There's something about an old steam locomotive that appeals to everyone's sense of nostalgia and tradition, and I'm certainly no exception," he says.
In addition to being one of America's foremost painters of steam era railroading, David has painted significant pieces depicting traditional American landscapes and sailing vessels.
David's artwork has earned him several awards including the prestigious Marguerite Pearson Gold Medal Award RAA and the Silver Medal Award RAA, as well as the Great Gatsby Award of Excellence 2000 and the Top 100 National Park Academy Award.
David currently divides his time between his studios on Indiana's Lake Michigan shores and in Rockport, Massachusetts.
